A showcase for creative and useful handcrafted items (mine and others'), as well as a place to share all things The Wind in the Willows related, just about my favorite book of all time. It was fascinating to me as a child and has stood the test of time and re-reading as an adult. I AM the emancipated mole, such a restless homebody ;)
I hope you'll let me know if you find things here meaningful, or at the very least enjoyable. We could all use a little of that these days. ~ Denise
My stuff: primarily handcrafted crocheted personal, artwork, and household items, others may enter the mix as the recycling/upcycling inspiration strikes. I focus on reclaimed, salvaged, thrifted, and/or otherwise eco-friendly materials, in keeping with philosophies of waste reduction and taking care of this planet we call home.
INSPIRATION:
"This day was only the first of many similar ones for the emancipated Mole, each of them longer and full of interest as the ripening summer moved onward. He learnt to swim and to row, and entered into the joy of running water; and with his ear to the reed-stems he caught, at intervals, something of what the wind went whispering so constantly among them." ~ from The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
The Emancipated Mole
Granny circle window covering. How cheerful and pretty! Also provides some privacy while still letting in plenty of light.

Cats’ skin doesn’t form calluses like ours does, so cats with mobility issues from conditions like deformity or paralysis can develop painful sores from dragging their limbs. Leggings for Life lets them slide right across smooth floors and stay happy and healthy.
A worldwide network of volunteer crocheters has helped more than 150 animals so far, including dogs and rabbits!
